ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:The Manager of Talent Acquisition is responsible for executing the organization’s talent and recruitment strategy, ensuring alignment with the mission to promote an inclusive culture that attracts diverse talent. This role leads a dynamic team, optimizing workflows, integrating innovative technologies, and enhancing processes to attract top talent across all divisions. Collaborating with key stakeholders, the Manager promotes the organization’s value proposition and builds strong pipelines for current and future workforce needs.MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the integration and optimization of recruitment technologies including ATS, ensuring systems align with the talent roadmap and enhance recruitment workflows
  • Manage the entire recruitment process, from posting and sourcing candidates to conducting interviews, selecting top talent and facilitating a smooth onboarding experience
  • Develop and track recruitment cycle performance against defined KPIs and implement improvements as needed
  • Utilize data analytics to drive insights into talent acquisition performance and to identify trends and recommend improvements
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including HR Business Partners and divisional leaders, to identify current and future talent needs
  • Lead initiatives to ensure diverse and inclusive hiring practices by removing bias in recruitment processes, including standardized interviews and diverse hiring panels.
  • Work closely with the HR team to align recruitment efforts with all other HR functions (ex. Manager Total Rewards, IDEA Specialist)
  • Provide consultative support and guidance to senior leaders regarding talent acquisition planning and best practices
  • Engage with external vendors and recruitment firms to manage sourcing strategies
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure consistent employer branding and an engaging candidate experience
  • Create a positive working environment, ensuring that team members are engaged, possess the required skills, and provided with the resources/tools to do the job
  • Build strong relationships with external networks and community organizations to enhance the organization’s talent pool
  • Ensure all pre-employment medicals are integrated into the recruitment process, identifying specific medical requirements based on job classifications, collaborating with divisions, Health and Safety and third-party providers, as needed
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labour legislation and implement required changes to talent acquisition policies and processes
REQUIREMENTS:
  • University Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • CHRP or CHRL designation is required
  • 5+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition
  • 2-3 years of leadership experience preferably in a unionized setting
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management skills with experience leading complex initiatives and multi-year plans
  • Understanding of employment laws and regulations related to recruitment and hiring practices
  • Strong knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles, with experience in building diverse talent pipelines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Commitment to Health and Safety
