Job Description

Our company is looking for an experienced Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the latest building technologies, and will have strong problem-solving skills, a sense of humor and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment. This position may be required to work outdoors depending on the weather, so we are looking for someone who can work well in inclement conditions.Responsibilities:

  • Use hand tools.
  • Use power tools safely.
  • Maintain hammer and saw sharpness.
  • Measure and lay out workpieces.
  • Work safely on scaffolding without a safety belt.
  • Move heavy materials on and off scaffolding.
  • Haul materials in a wheelbarrow.
  • Measure and cut materials using life-sized templates.
  • Lay out workpieces using blueprints.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, SeasonalContract length: 8-10 monthsFlexible Language Requirement:
  • French not required
Schedule:
  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
  • North Sydney, NS B2A 2P8: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
  • Carpentry: 1 year (required)
  • Roofing: 1 year (preferred)
  • Construction: 1 year (required)
  • Cement work/ concrete: 1 year (preferred)
  • framing/windows/doors: 1 year (preferred)

  • Day Shift (preferred)
