Ref ID: 05050-0012374864Classification: Director of AccountingCompensation: $160000.00 to $170000.00 yearlyOur client in the distribution industry is seeking a Director for their Merchandising business arm. They will be involved with accounting, reporting and analysis activities related to Merchandising, including Inventory, Sales, Cost of Goods Sold, Distribution and Gross Profit. The role closely interacts with the merchandising, supply chain, financial planning and analysis teams. Responsibilities Include:• Leads and oversees all accounting operations, analysis, and reporting around merchandising, including sales, inventory, cost of goods sold, distribution and gross profit to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results on a monthly and quarterly basis.• Reviews all processes for continuous improvement with the goal of accelerating the financial close process and optimizing related activities. Partners with the finance team and other business stakeholders to define and propose solutions to achieve process efficiency including around the use of technology while considering policies and required internal controls.• Responsible for monthly analysis of results as part of the close process and on ad hoc basis to support the business including highlighting insights to key stakeholders.• Responsible to ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed on a timely basis and in accordance to policy.• Manages processes around standard costing and related analysis, coordinates process with key stakeholders.• Participates in ad hoc projects including financial systems and distribution/warehousing system projects.• Leads and develops a team through coaching and performance management. Ensures standard operating procedures are in place for all key processes.
