Volunteer in your community and we will pay for that too.A Bit About The RoleImagine Communications is looking for an experienced DevOps Automation Engineer to join its DevOps/ Validation team in Toronto, Canada. As the successful candidate, you will work closely with the Development, Validation, DevOps, and Tier-2 Service teams, in a continuous integration and fast-paced environment.

  • Please note this position is partially remote due to occasional onsite meetings, on-site validation activities, etc.*
  • Design, implement, and maintain pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable deployment of applications.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for system reliability, performance, and security.
  • Manage and optimize Docker containers and Docker Swarm for efficient application deployment and scaling.
  • Administer and fine-tune PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
  • Utilize Ansible to automate configuration management, deployment, and orchestration processes.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of DevOps processes into production.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana) to proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the configuration and management of open-source tools.
  • Work closely with the Development, Tier-2 Service, and/or customer representatives to troubleshoot and resolve customer escalation issues.
  • Carry out various training, troubleshooting, and/ or validation activities when necessary.
About You
  • Bachelor #39;s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years software development experience with at least 5 years DevOps experience
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on the specified open-source tools.
  • Extensive experience in automation using Ansible for provisioning and configuration management.
  • Strong experience architecting and maintaining highly scalable and available environments using containerization technologies, especially Docker/ Docker Swarm.
  • Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and HA solutions such as Patroni.
  • In-depth knowledge of load-balancing (HA Proxy) and authentication/authorization (Keycloak) tools.
  • Experience in metric monitoring using Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Expertise in software testing principles, concepts, verification, and validation techniques in an Agile environment.
  • Working knowledge of build processes with experience using build/source code tools, such as Jenkins, GIT, or similar.
  • Experience in scripting languages like Python, Bash, PHP, Java, JavaScript, Node, etc.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration servers, such as Jenkins, or equivalent.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills of large computer networks in either an IT or television broadcast environment
  • Experience in the Broadcast industry is an asset.
  • Experience on the following technologies is a bonus but not required:
  • MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 video and audio compression,
  • Digital Video formats including NTSC, PAL, SDI, and HD-SDI,
  • Uncompressed IP video and audio data (i.e. 2022-6 and 2110).
  • Superior analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, and written skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and excellent attention to detail.
