Job Description

Company BriefTerrestrial Energy is a developer of Generation IV advanced nuclear power plants that use its proprietary Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR®) technology. IMSR® technology represents true innovation in cost reduction, versatility and functionality of nuclear power plants. IMSR® power plants will provide zero-carbon, reliable, dispatchable, cost-competitive electric power and high-grade industrial heat for use in many industrial applications, such as chemical synthesis and desalination, and in so doing extend the application of nuclear energy far beyond electric power markets. We have the potential to make important contributions to industrial competitiveness, energy security, and economic growth. Our deployment will support rapid global decarbonization of the primary energy system by displacing fossil fuel combustion across a broad spectrum. Using an innovative design, and proven and demonstrated molten salt reactor technology, we are engaged with regulators and industrial partners to complete IMSR® engineering and to commission first IMSR® power plants in the late 2020s. To execute this plan, we are now looking to add talented people to the team, each of whom will:

TitleAccounts Payable Administrator-6 month Part Time ContractReports ToVice President of FinanceLocationOakville, ONJob DutiesThe Accounts Payable Administrator, under the direction of Shared Service Manager, is primarily responsible for providing high quality financial services i.e. all aspect of accounts payable to customers (Company and external) in the function’s day-to-day activities. Other responsibilities include:
  • Input and code Invoices.
  • Match Invoices to Purchase Orders.
  • Manage Accounts Payable Inbox.
  • Answer queries and solve problem.
  • Liaise with Internal/External Stakeholders and being the first point of call.
  • Support the reconciliations and vendor payments functions.
  • Maintain historical records incl. keeping track of all payments and invoices.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how Finance department process transactions affect and impact both the financial accounts and other departments.
  • Other ad-hoc projects, such as Mastercard transactions report to Executives, Travel expense report.
Core Competencies
  • Self-Starter with strong ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time.
  • Able to communicate in a concise and logical way.
  • Solid understanding of applied finance principles.
  • Good process improvement capability.
Requirements
  • Preferably college diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting or similar.
  • Minimum 2 years of financial roles gained within an industrial environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Computer proficiency and ability to pick up new software quickly.
  • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).

Assets
  • Prior experience with ERP is desirable.
  • Entrepreneurship or other experience demonstrating self-motivation and problem solving.
  • Experience working for a nuclear power organization.
