Bilingual Technical Writer (English/French) – 70% Remote

Their proprietary identity technologies are backed by the latest advancements in biometrics, cryptography, systems, data analytics, and smart devices.Now, they are expanding their team and looking for you, their new Technical Writer to join their growing company!What you’ll be doing:As a Bilingual Technical Writer, you will be reporting to the Senior Quality and Delivery Manager and support the cross-functional teams by using your professional skills.Practically speaking, you will:
  • Work locally, virtually, and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop user guides, online help, quick references, and presentations
  • Create new content from interviews with subject matter experts such as trainers, quality assurance engineers, solutions architects, and product/program managers
  • Develop scope and plan for providing documentation materials designed to fit specific knowledge needs
  • Solid understanding of blended learning techniques for purposes of designing and standardizing written training materials, development of eLearning courseware, job aids, and video content
  • Responsible for creation, storage, cataloging, and security of all training documents and materials
  • Participate in and/or leads internal meetings and activities to ensure understanding of required documentation needs, changes, and/or updates required
  • Perform projects and duties as assigned in support of department goals and objectives. Examples of these would include but not be limited to participation in focus workgroups; attend implementation calls; and collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and PMO to ensure the business need is met
  • Monitor changes to policy and technology to ensure content is accurate, current, and accessible to end user community
The DetailsThis is a contract position for 6 months with a high possibility to convert to a permanent role with a hybrid work option (70% -Remote and 30% -office). The office is based in Oakville, ON.Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in training, engineering, or other related field or equivalent related work experience
  • 3-5 years of Technical Writing or Instructional Design experience
  • Fluent in English and French
  • Proven project management, technical writing, and content management experience
  • Experience developing blended learning solutions for internal/external customers
  • Proficiency with graphical design tools, such as Photoshop and Illustrator
  • High-level competency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Products - (Word, InDesign, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
  • Strong time management and project management skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to self-audit and audit others to produce high-quality documents
Strong assets:
  • Professional training certificates from a reputable certifying agency
  • Familiarity with online help system content
  • Experience with Knowledge Management Systems and content organization
