Become part of a strong and successful company that’s trusted by millions of Canadians to do the right thing.Be your best at Canada Life.We are looking for a Claims Administrator - FordWorking with our automotive client Ford, the WSIB Claims Administrator incumbent will provide strategic case management of occupational disability claims/cases and file Employers Reports with the WSIB on behalf of the Employer.*This role is located in Oakville, Ontario*What you will do

  • Provide ongoing claims management services and completion of requisite documentation as per prescribed WSIB policies; maintain contact with all stakeholders (WSIB, union, employer, and claimant); liaise with Ford medical rehabilitation consultants to ensure safe and timely return to work of Ford employees
  • Receive and review daily reports related to medical visits, at Ford sites, and determine potential for Workers Compensation claims
  • Processing/submission of all Form 7s, Form 9s and Recurrences to the WSIB within mandated time frames
  • Represent the employer in all correspondence with the WSIB
  • Provide quarterly management reports to Ford on emerging trends and offer recommendations for effectively managing the identified trends/issues
  • Identify potential claims that warrant further review and/or objections
  • Filing and clerical tasks
What you will bring
  • Post Secondary degree or diploma in Claims Management preferred
  • A thorough understanding of WSIB Policy and Legislation
  • A good understanding of medical terminology and general return to work practices
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in administrative support (at least five years preferably in a unionized environment)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, challenging environment
  • An understanding of accident costs
  • Experience in appeals representation would be an asset along with related education
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and adjust to changing priorities and work deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
