Job Description

Urban District is looking for a Construction Site Supervisor to work on our residential and commercial projects in Burlington, Oakville, and Mississauga areas.We are looking for leaders that are well-seasoned in custom build renovations that are looking for their next challenging project.The Site Supervisor will be responsible for delegating site work, monitoring schedule, ensuring materials arrive on time and overseeing all daily activities on site from early development to completion. The Site Supervisor will play an important part that involves reviewing construction trades work, developing trade relationships, ordering site materials, assisting with on-site work, overseeing all quality control, and contributing to lead carpentry work.In this position, you will work closely with the project managers. You will develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, consultants and property owners.Roles & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare material orders/deliveries and arrange subcontractor schedules.
  • Supervise and delegate site work to carpenters, labourers and subcontractors. Lead team by enhancing their technical skills and knowledge providing them with feedback for growth.
  • Ensuring the site office construction documents are organized and maintained.
  • Oversee all daily project planning and quality control.
  • Prepare project report updates.
  • Ensure all deficiencies are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Ensure safety practices are being followed.
  • Assisting with lead carpentry work and other hands-on site work.
  • Ensuring the site is clean and organized.
  • Verify all site measurements according to plans and drawings.
Requirements & Education:
  • 5+ years of experience in construction site supervising with a record of completing full-cycle multifamily homes and commercial projects.
  • Degree or diploma in carpentry, architecture, civil engineering, construction management or relatable.
  • Have all necessary certifications such as Working at Heights, WHIMIS, First Aid and basics of supervision.
  • Possess thorough knowledge in designing and building custom renovations and additions.
  • Must have strong knowledge of building codes and carpentry background.
  • Strong customer focus, organizational skills, emotional intelligence and ability to manage through change.
  • Ability and knowledge to use scheduling programs.
  • Have strong problem-solving skills.
  • A valid G drivers license, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel to various office locations.
