This is a learning environment for both client/members and junior staff, and those who wish to further their understanding on training structure and principle are encouraged to join.PositionPrimal Athletics is looking for a part-time fitness coach. As a Primal Athletics Fitness Coach you have a natural passion for exercise, health & fitness who enjoys working with people and is genuinely interested in the health and wellness of other people.We may require Our Coaches to be able to apply their knowledge of health and fitness and change exercises/structure on the spot.This includes but is not limited to· creating modifications on a prescribed exercise· analyzing client movement patterns and selecting appropriate alternative exercises· providing input on (re)structuring client programs based on performance· and more.This position requires working split shifts (regular early mornings and evenings) and often weekends.Duties and Responsibilities§ Teach group exercise classes:· Demonstrate exercises as prescribed by Primal Athletics· Maintain class format as designed by Head Coach· Modify exercises based on the needs of the class member upon request· Ensure classes start and end on time· Bring member concerns to the attention of Management§ Personal Training:§ Assess functional movement and range of motion of each client§ Develop personal training client curriculum following Primal Athletics training protocols§ When necessary, carry out specific exercise protocol directed by the Head Coach§ Modify exercise when appropriate and necessary due to previous injury or goal specific requirements§ Answer client question on exercise and related issues, or refer to the Head Coach for a response§ Report to the Head Coach on client performance§ Sports Team Training§ Assist developing enjoyable and effective sport specific training programs§ Demonstrate sport specific exercise§ Able to make modifications to exercises when necessary§ Welcome new members/clients and assist with orienting them to the gym and the classes§ Regular maintenance and cleaning dutiesQualifications· A university/college graduate or student of a health and fitness related degree program. (Kinesiology, Athletic Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Biology, ect.)
