We are located at the Oakville Go Station, 30 Minutes from downtown Toronto.Your day to daySCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE

  • Balance room, restaurant and bar work daily
  • Post and balance charges and settlements in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain files and reset the systems for next day operations
  • Be committed to providing exceptional guest care and achieve full and timely completion of night audit duties as required by company policy
MAIN DUTIES1. Learn, understand and implement our Guest Loyaly Program “ IHG One Rewards”2. Prepare daily Restaurant Revenue Report data by auditing Point of Service tapes/journals to breakdown revenue, covers, waiters fees, tips paid out and settlements by type and cashier.3. Run audit reports/journals from the front office system, Point of Service and the computer.4. Make corrections and adjustments and handle all computer problems that might occur throughout the shift.5. Input into the front office system revenue/expenses/allowances to generate the daily reports such as the Guest Ledger Summary and the Daily Restaurant Summary.6. Balance all revenue and settlement accounts nightly, maintain files and reset the system for next day operations.7. Demonstrate a positive and proactive attitude and be committed to providing exceptional guest care through use of initiative and empowered decision making.8. Ensure that guest arrival/departure is carried out in a friendly and professional manner with all cash and credit transactions being handled in accordance with company policy.9. Answer the switchboard in a courteous and caring manner ensuring accurate recording and prompt delivery of all messages or explanation/use of voicemail in line with property policy.10. Ensure the security of cash, keys, safety deposit boxes and be responsible for the safety and security of the building being aware of procedures to follow in the event of emergency or disruptive situations to maintain personal safety and guest safety as required by property and company policy.11. Be skilled in the taking of reservations and understand and apply yield management principles and selling techniques in order to maximize on Revenue Per Available Room and contribute to achieving or exceeding rooms revenue/occupancy.12. Program wake-up calls, order and *deliver newspapers, *set up continental breakfast and *meeting rooms in accordance with property policy. (* if applicable)13. Be totally conversant with the computer system and balance daily/accounting transactions and run reports/draw up statistical information as required by property and company policy.14. Ensure accurate completion and timely submission of reports/information as required15. Audit room rates, charges and reconcile and balance revenues generated as per night audit checklist.16. Carry out cleaning of the lobby and public areas as designated by property policy.17. Complete computer system backups and save in accordance with company procedures.18. Carry out Accounts Receivable and other accounting duties as assigned achieving standards required by company policy.19. Be aware of competitor activity and assist with sales related activities in terms of ascertaining, logging and tracking of information.20. Be competent in the completion of month end duties in line with company policy.21. To ensure full completion of all duties relating to the shift and a concise handover in order to assist the smooth running of the property, effective team work and guest satisfaction.22. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.23. Perform any other job related duties as assigned.REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Basic mathematical skills and ability to make accurate mathematical calculations using a 10-key. Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner. Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.What we need from youRequirements:Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace. Must be able to speak and understand the primary language used by guests who visit the workplace. Experience: Previous hotel-related experience desired. Physical: Requires grasping, writing, sitting, standing, walking, repetitive motions, hearing, visual acuity, and may on occasion require lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds.Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):* Constant standing and walking throughout shiftVisa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
