This role is based in our Oakville in and reports to the Application Development Lead.Do not miss the opportunity to join a diverse group of people-centric professionals, thought leaders and rapid thinkers, entrepreneurs in spirit and status quo-fighters!Job SummaryThe Functional Analyst will lead the analysis phase (in an SDLC process), build and propose IT solutions (base on the Business requirements), document use cases, perform some tests and support business application solutions in order to meet the needs of corporate objectives. The incumbent will work in close collaboration with Business Analysts, Functional Architect and Developers, responsible for functional requirements gathering and small project coordination.On your day-to-day, you will work closely with a team of EDI analysts, ERP team, Business, clients and Vendor managed Services to support, design, develop, implement, and maintain EDI-centric business applications and data automation processes, leveraging your knowledge of common EDI transaction sets (850, 855, 810, 856, 820, 812, 844, 860,827,824 and others). Using your strong knowledge of EDI, you will help onboard new customers on existing inhouse solution and then with the third-party vendor managed services, manage end to end project lifecycle, and help with post implementation support. You will be a key liaison between all the internal Business Units, external Customers and Vendor managed services. Hence strong written and communications skills is a must. Also, you will be a key person for current inhouse EDI solution replacement and assist on the new ERP implementation when neededPrincipal Responsibilities

  • Produce estimations.
  • Document functional analysis under the UML language.
  • Analyse and design new and existing applications to enhance system functionality.
  • Develop and implement integration test procedures.
  • Understand and support systems already deployed.
  • Recommend application optimization techniques and strategies aimed at improving system performance and processes.
  • Propose recommendations to help build & improve upon the current application development environment within the group.
  • Collaborate, listen, support and share ideas effectively in a team setting.
  • Be a point of contact between business analyst, developers and the user community. Listens, speaks and interacts in a logical, clear and persuasive manner.
  • Apply high-intellect reasoning and problem solving skills. Analyse information and situations to create new insights and ideas and develop practical solutions.
  • Self-manage their activities and deliverables.
  • Provide progress reports on deliverables to business analysts, leads and managers, and be accountable for meeting specified deadlines.
  • Contribute to the creation of technical and functional documentation manuals.
RequirementsRequired Experience and Knowledge
  • A minimum of two years of experience with EDI.
  • Excellent knowledge of EDI/X12 file formats
  • Strong SAP HANA experienced
  • Strong understanding of FTP, AS2 and VAN setups and monitoring.
  • Solid analytical skills and problem-solving skills with the ability to formulate and communicate recommendations for improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills, as well as the ability to present and explain technical information in a way that established rapport, persuades others and gains understanding.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a cross functional environment.
  • Strong business acumen around supply chain
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or equivalent.
  • Aptitude and interest to discover, learn, and build upon new enterprise applications and technologies they may not have worked on before.
  • Possess a strong analytical approach with particular strength on sorting through details.
  • Bilingual – French and English.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audience.
  • A proactive self-starter and autonomous individual requiring minimal supervision.

Functional Competencies
  • Strong in EDI Mainframe and BA best practices skills
  • Gather business requirements and document integration workflows and mapping specifications for new EDI onboarding
  • Collaborate with business units to gather business and data configuration requirements.
  • Work closely with ERP team to stay on top of projects.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify issues and recommend permanent solutions.
  • Ensure that all project timelines are met.
  • Manage EDI-related support responsibilities, which include production monitoring, file maintenance, and consultation with internal and external stakeholders
  • Must have excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills to interact the clients very effectively.
  • Exposure with Communication Protocols: FTP, FTPS, SFTP, HTTP, HTTP/S, AS2, VAN, etc.
  • Experience in implementing EDI Interfaces using standards such as ANSI X12
  • Exposure to Customs Manifest process, EDI 3XX series and 2XX Series.
  • Proven experience in implementing EDI projects required.
  • Knowledge of EDI, eCommerce and B2B solutions.
