Job Description

The OpportunityGTY is looking for a service-oriented problem solver with excellent communication and organizational skills to join our IT team as IT Technician.This is your opportunity to leverage your skills as the first point of contact for IT support within a company that is transforming government through digitization to enable communities to thrive. As an IT Technician, your focus will be to keep computer systems running smoothly and efficiently. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain hardware and software components for efficient system operation. You are also responsible for configuring most internal computer hardware.The ChallengeWhat You’ll Do:

  • Systems & Documentation: Set up customer and employee support systems. Design and document system processes and document the network’s configuration.
  • Remote Partner: Gain an understanding of remote users IT concerns & issues.
  • Ticket Master: Provide an initial assessment and troubleshooting hardware and software issues to determine the root cause of IT tickets & resolving those issues.
  • Keeper of the House: Cataloging and Inventory of IT equipment, following up with servicing agreements with equipment owned.
  • Install, Upgrade, & Configure: Initiate software installations; installing/uninstalling computer peripherals, computer rollout. Install and configure hardware and software components. Upgrade systems to enable software compatibility.
  • [Working] Telephone: Configure and maintain VoIP soft phone services
  • Repairing or replacing damaged hardware.
  • Secure the Base: Install and program POE Switches, Routers/ Firewall / VPNs, Modems. Install and upgrade anti-virus software and security systems to ensure network security. Respond to security or usability concerns.
  • Know-It-All: Execute any other IT and customer service-related tasks as assigned by the direct Manager.
