Job Description

Acclaim Health announces the availability of a Full-Time Food Service Worker position at Patty’s Place. This position will require the individual to work Monday – Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm.PRIMARY FUNCTIONS :

  • Ensures all food, beverages/snacks for the clients of both day programs and overnight services are prepared according to program schedule and prepared menu
  • Plans, orders and receives meals from external caterer
  • Maintains food and associated supplies inventory, including ordering, receiving and storing of supplies
  • Maintains accurate documentation for food temperature logs and kitchen equipment checks (fridge, freezer)
  • Cleans and stores all dishes, flatware and equipment used for meals/snacks
  • Ensures all areas, including kitchen, dining, food storage areas and equipment are clean, sanitary and uncluttered and safe
  • Follows individual client meal plans as prepared by Supervisor/Coordinator ensuring dietary/food texture requirements while optimizing client independence
  • Attends and participates in team meetings
  • Participates in continuous learning opportunities
  • Assists with events or contracted services
  • Participates in special events as requested by the Director
  • Other duties as required
POSITION REQUIREMENTS :Food Service Worker certificate/diplomaCertification in Food HandlingCertification in Basic First Aid, at own expenseCertification in Gentle Persuasive Approaches in Dementia Care (will be provided)1 to 2 years of experience working in gerontology and working with cognitively impaired personsUnderstanding and knowledge of diversity and cultural competenceStrong verbal and written communication, assessment and interpersonal skillsEffective listening skillsKnowledge and skills in quality/risk managementWorking knowledge of Microsoft OfficeGood organizational skillsProven ability to multi-task and meet deadlinesDemonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team memberPlease note - only those applicants selected for interview will be contacted.Acclaim Health is an equal opportunity employer.
