Job Description

SUMMARY:In this position you will be reporting to the Logistics Manager. As the Logistics Supervisor, you will act on behalf of the Logistics Manager in a working leadership role with 3PL focus and successfully support all targets for safety, quality and productivity to meet On-Time Delivery (OTD) of our products.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Host daily tier 1 meetings with staff daily and communicate job assignments for the day that maximizes productivity, efficiency, cross-training, and customer support.
  • Manage schedules for second shift along with tracking overtime.
  • Be available on-call, off-shift as needed to line up employee support for the business as required.
  • Conduct performance reviews and 1:1’s with direct reports and demonstrate the ability to have difficult conversations and managerial courage to hold the team accountable to supporting customer needs and staying productive.
  • Guide cost reduction and process improvement in Logistics to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
  • Own multiple metrics including: Turnaround time, inventory accuracy, daily kitting rates, and training records.
  • Create/Define Processes and Standard Operation Procedures.
  • Complete DIVEs and RRCAs as needed for continuous improvement.
  • Adhere to all EH&S and OSHA policies and Regulations.
  • Work closely with Quality Technicians, Operation Managers, Production Control, Procurement and Supplier Quality.
  • Act as focal point for prioritization of issues for 3PL and Collins Materials Management team
  • Participate in weekly status review & monthly metrics review related to 3PL Performance
  • Act as a liaison between Collins and 3PL in any one-off situations that may require on-site review or perspective (i.e. inventory checks, handling / storage / packaging concerns, hot inbound receipts)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant logistics experience. In the absence of degree, 9 years of relevant logistics experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior leadership experience.
  • Must be able to communicate well with people at all levels within the organization
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Accepts ownership and accountability for own actions and is persistent in following through on daily plan.
  • A team player with strong Shipping/Material Handling and organizational skills
  • Proven mentoring skills and ability to delegate duties effectively among employees.
  • Respects diversity and treats others with respect. Avoids unnecessary conflict.
  • Energetic and innovative leader who shares new ideas in an effort to continuously improve the process.
  • Strong knowledge of EH&S programs and policies with a passion for health and safety.
  • Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CGD
