The Manager Regulatory Supervisory Analytics is responsible for the maintenance, stability and development of the compliance supervisory program Portfolio Aid 360. PortfolioAid360 is an automated tool that provide security risk rating, improved suitability assessments, issue management dashboards, outstanding trending analytics which promote a healthy and positive culture of compliance. This position reports directly to the Director of National Field Compliance.Key Accountabilities:

  • Identify and escalate any areas of non-compliance
  • Build on the strength of the compliance team by actively participating in team meetings, chipping in toward team goals and participating on projects
  • Lead continuing development of Portfolio Aid
  • Act as the main contact for the vendor Portfolio Aid
    • Provide reporting and analysis support to the Director of National Compliance
    • Develop and implement (through vendor) securities rating policies
    • Represent compliance on various projects
  • Responsible for the working of the Risk Committee, establishing meetings, reviewing risk rating requests and reporting
  • Strong understanding of IIROC and MFDA regulations ensuring that they are gathered in the Portfolio Aid program
Job Requirements (Knowledge/Skills/Proficiencies):
  • Professional background in the financial services industry preferably with an IIROC firm (minimum of 3-5 years).
  • University degree or equivalent working experience
  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course and the Conduct and Practice Handbook
  • Good understanding of the general characteristics, attributes and risk factors associated with various securities and investment strategies for the purpose of assessing matters such as suitability and legitimacy of investment activities.
  • Good understanding of the firm’s business practices organizational structure and general policies and procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal business communication skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft applications (including Word, Excel and Power Point) and familiarity with the internet and related applications as tools.
  • Capable of simultaneously balancing multiple tasks and meeting stringent deadlines.
  • Well-developed inter-personal skills in order to provide a high level of service and maintain working relationships with assigned groups and team members.
  • Able to recognize and handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Self-motivated, confident and capable of working both independently and in a team environment.
  • Outstanding planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Results oriented and hard worker.
