Job Details:Part-Time (Non-Union T)Posting Status:Open to all current Town of Oakville employees and external applicants.This posting is for current and future opportunities and will be filled on an as needed basis. Applications will be considered for any openings that become available between now and December 31, 2021.Job Responsibilities:As a Town of Oakville Master Instructor Fitness, you will:Provide facility members and patrons with safe and effective fitness classes tailored to a variety of individual fitness levels and limitations.Professionally represent the facility in dealing with Fitness Centre users including enforcement of regulations and protocols, participant assistance and technique correction, incident/emergency action, conflict resolution and marketing of fitness classes.M ake recommendations to the Fitness Coordinator based on observations and user feedback as to types of fitness classes, operations, and policy.Professionally correspond with the Facility Operators and Front Desk Staff to ensure the smooth operation of the Department including Fitness Centre maintenance and customer service issues.Monitor fitness classes participants for the appropriateness of the program content and level.Ensure the on-site safety of participants.Customer Service (welcoming, conduct, communication).Support and promote the HIGH FIVE “principles of healthy child development”.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications/Skills:Certification from a recognized fitness association.Experience in a specialized area is an asset: Stability Ball, Kettle Bell, TRX, Bosu, Spin, Kickboxing, Zumba, Cross-Fit, Child/Youth Fitness, Older Adult Fitness and exercise rehabilitation.HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) certification is a requirement for leading Child Fitness ClassesThe candidate must present a satisfactory criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening, dated within the last 30 days, prior to commencing the position.Applications for this position must be received at oakville.ca in the employment section by no later than midnight on December 31, 2021.DATED: July 5, 2021This job profile reflects the general details considered necessary to perform the principal functions and shall not be construed as an interpretation of all work requirements inherent in the job.
