Job Description

HealthSense Medical in Oakville is looking for a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our busy clinic. Must have the ability to multitask, a desire to learn new skills and work in a team environment. Also the ideal candidate will need to be proficient in English, have excellent customer service skills and EMR computer skills, experience with Accuro is an asset.Responsibilities:

  • Complete brief history of clients, anticipate and ensure equipment for client visit is set up in the room, and triage client’s needs (either by telephone or in person).
  • Perform basic clinical skills and provide care within their full scope of practice:
  • take vitals, give injections/immunizations, perform urinalysis, and assisting with other procedures as requested.
  • Perform non clinical duties such as the ordering and distribution of supplies, maintaining inventory controls, and ensure all exam rooms are stocked sufficiently and consistently.
  • Maintain accurate health records and up to date clinical notes
  • Participate in team and staff meetings, and other meetings to support both service delivery and organizational goals.
  • Work in a manner that preserves confidentiality, ensures client safety and minimizes risk to clients.

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
