Family practice clinic in Oakville is looking for a highly professional, dependable, and trustworthy Part/Full Time Medical Receptionist with a Nursing background. The position would be an exciting long term opportunity in a caring, and client-oriented professional environment providing a supportive and innovative patient service.The role would include providing a full administrative and some nursing assistant to the physicians in the office.The responsibilities will include: · Greet patients, validate health cards and accurately obtain demographics· Schedule appointments and follow up visits· Direct patients to exam rooms and assist with basic vitals as needed· Exam room set up, maintenance and organization· Process electronic and paper documents (faxing, mailing, scanning) and maintain confidentiality· Promptly respond to calls and voicemails. Relay important messages· Facilitate communication between physicians and patients with appropriate documentation· Manage referrals and specialist appointments· Reconcile OHIP payments, collect uninsured payments and maintain records· Maintain office inventory, order supplies as needed· Manage vaccine orders and storage.· Nursing work: taking patients’ and babies’ vitals and measures, assessing office procedures and IM injections.A successful candidate should have the following qualities and qualifications: · Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in medical office; Family Medicine Office Administration/nursing.· Passion for helping people with a high degree of integrity and professionalism· Excellent verbal/written communication with superb client service and organizational skills· Ability to work well and be adaptable in a fast paced environment and be able to multitask efficiently· Excellent problem solving skills and detail oriented· Proficiency with MS Office Package; good typing speed· Medical Office Assistance certificate or equivalent / Nursing school diploma / IM injection certificate.· A college/post-secondary education would be an asset· Knowledge of office procedures and medical terminology· OHIP and third party billing experience· Knowledge of OSCAR- EMR software is an assetPlease submit your resume with a cover letter.
