Job Description

As well as supplying all of Tate’s manufactured products for both the Commercial Office and the Data Centre sector in Canada, Tate ASP also self-performs our own installations in Ontario. Outside of self-performance, our key supply markets are Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver, operated through an established dealer network.The Tate Access Floors business has evolved in recent years bringing new and exciting products to the Canadian market which has resulted in near term revenue increases as well as more market opportunities in the future. Tate ASP Canada is seeking an experienced project management professional to manage Tate’s increasing Data Center and Commercial Office projects in the Eastern Canada region. The successful candidate must exhibit the technical and personal experience and skills required to allow Tate to deliver excellence in service, quality, and time execution for both our direct installation projects and those supplied to third parties.Primary PurposeThe Project Manager is responsible for post-sales coordination, implementation, control and completion of projects, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments and goals of the organization.Responsibilities

  • Coordinates activities of the sales team to ensure adequate planning for upcoming projects.
  • Plans and implements projects after sales completion.
  • Helps define project schedule, scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Manages the submittal process with the project design team, general contractor and/or end-user to achieve design submittal approval.
  • Defines tasks and required resources to deliver each project.
  • Develops and implements processes that improve the order execution process and ROJ dates.
  • Develops and provides project tracking milestone report.
  • Is a communication liaison between Tate and field activities.
  • Represents Tate on customer required call updates.
  • Tracks base order value and coordinates change order consideration/approval.
  • Ensures timely material and labor billings.
  • Provides customer required billing projections.
  • Initiates purchase requisitions as needed (labor).
  • Coordinates and tracks product submittal documentation.
  • Meets with vendors and key partners for projects during production stages.
  • Creates bills of materials, schedules, and project timelines.
  • Tracks deliverables.
  • Troubleshoots technical problems and provides onsite support as needed.
  • Supports the Data Center Engineering and Sales team.
  • Leads quality assurance for each specific project.
  • Monitors and reports on project progress.
  • Monitors production, delivery, and construction issues onsite as required.
  • Implements and manages change when necessary to meet project outputs.
  • Evaluates and assesses results of projects.
  • Maintains awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; reports all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in construction, manufacturing, or general industry preferred.
  • Experience and proven track record of managing a project budget and schedule.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent is desired.
  • Experience in delivering mission critical projects and/or Data Center projects is desired.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills required.
  • Excellent decision making and leadership capabilities required.
  • Conflict resolution experience a plus.
  • Ability to tolerate stress and work in a fast-paced change driven environment.
  • Must be able to travel to Quebec and US manufacturing sites (25% travel expected).
