We are looking for a Seasonal Scale Operatorto be responsible for operating the truck scale and grain grading room in an accurate, efficient manner. The Seasonal Scale Operator will manage the recording of scale ticket grain transactions through to completion. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, strong problem-solving skills and be a demonstrated self-starter with high initiative.Responsibilities

  • Weigh all inbound and outbound trucks as well as operate the grain probe and record grading information on these loads
  • Operate grain grading equipment and provide grading information on incoming and outgoing grain shipments
  • Work with customers to verify load information
  • Answer telephone promptly and direct calls as needed
  • Provide a high level of customer service by addressing patrons in a prompt, efficient and courteous manner
  • Work with other office personnel on special projects
  • Perform other duties or activities as needed or directed by supervisor
  • Work with other office personnel to keep grading office clean and tidy
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions
Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • Basic understanding of grain and harvesting processes. Grain grading certification will be provided
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work some long irregular hours based on weather conditions (weekend and holidays included)
