Job SummaryThe Technical Support Analyst is responsible for providing effective end-user helpdesk support for I.T. related functions as well as providing assistance on general I.T. projects. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and updating all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. This individual will comply with provincial and federal legislation, employee handbook guidelines, health and safety policies and ISO quality program and procedures.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • College diploma or university degree in an I.T. related field
  • Comp TIA A+/Network+ or MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in a help desk support capacity
  • Experience at supporting end-user applications and enterprise applications (MS Exchange, MS SQL, CAM/CAM environment)
  • Ability to diagnose problems, perform repairs on I.T. assets and provide support for a wide range of applications
  • Understanding of network concepts including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs and VPN
  • Knowledge of computer workstation set-up, basic server administration (AD) and desktop support
  • Able to quickly analyze issues and determine best course of action using available resources
  • Sound judgement to escalate issues to senior members within the help desk organization
  • Able to communicate in user-friendly language
  • Excellent inter-personal communication skills with a strong customer service mindset
  • Capable of forecasting and solving problems
  • Time management skills with exceptional multi-tasking abilities and prioritization skills
  • Ability to adapt and welcome change in a positive manner.
  • Temporary coverage of the Data and Estimating Administration position to provide a basic service and support for Engineering and estimating departments.
