To learn more about Good Shepherd, visit our website at www.goodshepherdcentres.caThis summer student opportunity is available within the Good Shepherd- Non-Profit Housing Department.Reporting to the Director of Tenantamp; Housing Services the Summer Student Admin enhances the dignity and quality of life of our clients, visitors and staff by responding in a timely and respectful manner to requests for information from tenants and staff. How You Will Make an Impact

• Answer and direct calls; manage incoming/outgoing mail.
• Support with faxes, photocopying, and distributing housing applications.
• Receive, process, and update housing applications and waiting lists.
• Maintain filing systems for tenants, maintenance, and buildings.
• Prepare tenant notices and correspondence in line with the Residential Tenancies Act.
• Support Maintenance and Property Managers with letters and reports.
• Assist with annual income verifications.
• Process Service Requests into work orders for the Maintenance Manager.
• Generate maintenance reports from the Arcori system.
• Collaborate to strengthen the housing department team.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Tenantamp; Housing Services.

What You #39;ll Bring to Our Team

• Minimum post-secondary education or equivalent
• CPR certification or willingness to be certified is also required

• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Excellent computer skills, with experience in Excel, Word, and other Property Management software.
• Ability to multi-task with a focus on attention to detail.

• Hospitable in dealings with clients/public / volunteers / staff, and other key stakeholders.
• Available and responsive to the needs of others, demonstrating a respectful and compassionate demeanor
• Observe all Good Shepherd health and safety rules.

Hiring Criteria - the following criteria is established by Canada Summer Job: This temporary full-time position is funded by Service Canada for youth between the ages of 15 to 30 years of age.

• Applicants may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as they were 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
• As per the Summer Canada Jobs Program criteria:
  • International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
  • Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible.
