Job Description

Summary:Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Information Officer is responsible for developing a digital transformation strategy to facilitate centralization of IT services across all programs including collection, use storage and reporting.The CIO will also develop policies supporting the overall data management strategy.Other responsibilities include planning, implementing, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating the IT infrastructureamp; Security of OLCN in order to analyze, design, develop, implement, operate information systems for OLCN.Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Managing IT staff and developing department goals
  • Developing and overseeing the IT budget
  • Planning, deploying and maintaining IT systems and operations
  • Managing the organization software development needs
  • Developing IT policies, procedures and best practices
  • Staying updated on IT trends and emerging technologies
  • Developing and enforcing IT best practices across the organization
  • Ensuring IT strategiesand processes support organization - wide goals
  • Overseeing relationships with vendors, contractors and service providers
  • Oversee the Infrastructure of - Network , Security , Datacenter,Cloud storage, Hosting Services
  • Ensuring knowledge transfer and training for IT members
Qualifications:
  • Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure
  • Background in design/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation
  • Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations
  • Superior analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • A strong strategic and business mindset
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be preferred
  • An understanding of First Nations practices and culture
