Heavy Construction Equipment Operator (NOC 73400)Employer: Border Paving Ltd.Business Address: 6711 Goldenwest Avenue Red Deer, AB T4P 1A7Job Location:

  • Various Site Locations in Stony Plain and surrounding areas, AB
Wage: $34 to $35.75 /hour (based on skills and experience/salary increases as per company policy). Profit-sharing bonus program as per company policy.Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal employment, full-time, 44 to 60 hours per week (weather dependent), Overtime, Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, NightBenefits: CORE Coverage (Basic Life, LTD, Basic Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Available after 3 months). Upon eligibility for CORE Coverage, Supplementary Health and Basic Dental Coverage are available after 9 months employment.Vacancies: 8Anticipated start date: Spring 2024 (Actual start date is weather-dependent)Job requirements: Language: EnglishEducation: No education is requiredExperience: 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent trainingWork Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment, Overtime required, Handling heavy loads up to 50 lbsWork Site: Outdoors, Dusty, Noisy, Traffic, Job entails working close to buildings, utilities, etc.Personal Suitability: Team PlayerWork Setting: Road building in residential, commercial, institutional.Type of Heavy Equipment Operated: Asphalt Screed, Paver, or GraderArea of work experience: Asphalt finishing, Fine grading and finishing, Rough gradingSecurity and Safety: Drug and Alcohol policy in effectDuties:
  • Operate heavy equipment.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks.
  • Utilize material safety data sheets (MSDS)
  • Complete onboard and other logs
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment.
  • Participate in the preparation of accident reports
  • Secure special attachments to equipment.
  • Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment.
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment.
  • Monitor safety conditions.
