JOB DESCRIPTIONHeavy Equipment Technician The successful applicant will :

Perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of truck and trailer combinations and various off-road equipment including compaction equipment, dozers, excavators, graders, loaders, paving equipment, skidsteers, light trucks and small engines,
Diagnose electrical, hydraulic and mechanical troubles,
Perform preventative, planned and unplanned maintenance, repair, overhaul, troubleshoot and test mechanical and electronic equipment according to company standards,
Complete maintenance records and documentation as required,
Work in a shop setting when not in the field,
Work from a service truck in the field as required with possible overnight stays and
Participate as a vital team member and contribute to the success of the organization which may involve participation in other areas of technical and field support, as required, and
Perform duties in a safe, timely and cost effective manner.

The successful applicant MUST HAVE:

Alberta HET certification or out of province HET certification with Interprovincial Red Seal,
Licensed CVIP certification,
Your own tools,
Basic welding knowledge and skills (welding certification is an asset),
Class 5 license with clean abstract (valid Class 1 or 3 license is an asset),
Strong attention to detail,
The ability to self-start; work independently as well as work with a team,
The ability to multi-task and shift priorities as required,
A flexible work schedule and be willing to work overtime and weekends during the construction season (May November),
Great communication and interpersonal skills
Be in good physical shape in order to work in physically demanding conditions,
