Job Description

About Us:We are a leading civil construction company based in Ontario, specializing in boardwalks, golf course construction, and complex civil infrastructure projects. We are entering a growth phase and seeking to modernize our processes while maintaining our reputation for high-quality craftsmanship.Position Overview:We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team. This role will handle all aspects of estimating, cost tracking, and change order management. The Estimator will play a critical role in preconstruction, project handoff, and ongoing financial control, ensuring profitable project execution and supporting the company’s growth strategyKey Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed estimates for civil, boardwalk, and golf course projects, including takeoffs and pricing.
  • Manage all tenders, RFPs, and informal quote processes.
  • Coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing and maintain cost database.
  • Develop and track project budgets from award through completion.
  • Monitor actual costs versus budgets, providing regular cost reports and insights.
  • Create, price, and track change orders, ensuring timely submission and approval.
  • Support project managers and operations with scope clarifications and handoff documentation.
  • Continuously update estimating databases with real-world cost data for improved accuracy
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of estimating experience in civil or heavy construction (boardwalk/golf experience is an asset).
  • Strong understanding of cost control, change order processes, and construction contracts (CCDC preferred).
  • Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software.
  • Excellent Excel and data analysis skills for cost tracking.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with field and office staff.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
