Faculty or Department: Advancement OfficeNumber of Positions: 1Position Title: Alumni Relations Co-ordinatorAppointment Type: Full-Time ContinuingHours of work: 35 per weekSalary Range: Level 8 - Starting Salary, Step 1 $62,212Posting Date: Friday, December 17Closing Date: Friday, January 14Job Summary:The Alumni Relations Co-ordinator creates events, programs and communications that build alumni networks and engagement. This position works closely with volunteer committees, councils and individuals; as well as staff across the university.Nature of work:

  • Reporting to the Director, Engagement Services, this position is one of high visibility working to build and maintain relationships that help enhance the university’s reputation and increase philanthropic support.
Responsibilities/accountabilities:
  • Responsible for all aspects of the Alumni Office in order to advance the university’s goals and the strategic direction of the Alumni Association.
  • Plan, manage and implement all aspects of alumni activities; work closely with faculties, campus groups, volunteers and alumni to plan activities of benefit to university alumni, Alumni Day, Convocation and chapter activities; and represent the university at Alumni events.
  • Provide leadership and administrative support for the Alumni Association and actively engage students with the Alumni Association.
  • Serve as managing editor and content coordinator of digital newsletter, web and social media, engaging alumni through these channels.
  • Working with the director, engagement services, develop and implement creative fundraising strategies and donor development programs to engage and involve our more than 22,000 alumni, and graduating students.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
Required Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement event and communications plans.
  • An outstanding written and verbal communicator with strong ability to convey complex information in a variety of formats (digital and print).
  • Excellent organizational skills and a proven ability to manage competing priorities to meet established goals.
  • Experience working with volunteers and collaborating with internal and external constituents to deliver programs.
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; strong computer skills; ability to learn new programs and manage and work with data (knowledge of Raiser’s Edge an asset).
Education
  • Completion of a University Program consisting of Four Academic Years;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Verification of Academic credentials may be required

  • Over 3 years and including 5 years
