Hiring immediately - Full Time - $19/hrIAA, Inc., a leading provider of loss recovery services to the insurance industry in Canada, has an opening for a Yard Attendant at our facility in Oshawa, ON.IAA is Canadas leading live and live-online salvage vehicle auction company with auction facilities across British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada. IAAs national service offering allows sellers to standardize processes across the country and provides buyers with Canadas most extensive selection of salvage vehicles. IAA (NYSE: IAA) has nearly 4,000 talented employees and more than 200 facilities throughout the US, Canada, and the United Kingdom.Responsibilities:

• Vehicle check-in by recording and filing information on incoming vehicles being assigned to the facility
• Recover keys, license plates, and other information or objects from vehicles at the facility and store them in the appropriate locations at the branch
• Assist visitors by providing appropriate guidance, directing them to the appropriate person for additional assistance
• Wash cars, remove license plates and provide general cleaning services to maintain a clean and safe facility
• Follow all company policies
• Read to understand documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other procedural documents, and ensures
• Follow applicable safety and environmental rules to provide a safe business for customers and employees
• Remain alert to potential hazards associated with heavy equipment, and other vehicles operated in the assigned work area
• Meet key performance metrics, including daily, weekly, and monthly goals

Job Requirements:

• Capable of having interaction and support customers and towers
• Capable of performing light vehicle duties
• Must be able to perform activities that involve stooping, bending, standing, and walking for reasonable periods
• Ability to work in varying climates, weather conditions, and walking surfaces, inside and outside
• General mechanical knowledge of the makes and models of vehicles required
• Ability to function well as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to apply appropriate use of security, maintenance, and safety procedures to protect Company and customer assets
• Ability to apply appropriate use of personal protective equipment (i.e., safety gloves, safety glasses)
• Ability to avoid accidents by recognizing potentially unsafe situations and responding when accidents occur
• Ability to follow appropriate industry-specific regulations related to the handling of hazardous materials
• Ability to constantly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 lbs.; frequently up to 50 lbs.; and occasionally over 75 lbs
• Ability to constantly reach outward, handle and finger objects, walk and sit
• Ability to frequently bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, climb, and crawl

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in the equipment rental or construction industry and related field
• Previous forklift operating experience
• Basic automotive repair skills
