Job Description

POSITION INFORMATION:Part-time support opportunity (temporary): October 2022 through July 2023Department: Centre for Teaching & LearningHours: 500 hours totalThe Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is seeking to contract a subject-matter expert for the development of the Bachelor of Cybersecurity degree program. Reporting to the Associate Dean of the CTL, and in collaboration with the degree development team, the incumbent will develop the academic program, selected full course outlines, guide course developers in the development of course outlines, and utilize their own professional and academic networks to contribute to the development of the pre-program advisory committee and external reviewer.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a high-quality, degree-level academic program including program learning outcomes, program abstract, and the program of studies course sequence meeting institutional and Ministry priorities including quality standards and applicable college policies, procedures and practices.
  • Develop selected course outlines and facilitate the development of course outlines in partnership with curriculum development consultants, including, but not limited to, learning outcomes, evaluations, required resources and learning plans.
  • Recommend internal or external hires for course outline developers with the appropriate credentials as required.
  • Participate in meetings with various stakeholders to present and address inquiries regarding the proposed program.
  • Oversee the curriculum mapping and gap analyses exercises.
  • Respond to and amend documents as required to address internal and external reviews.
  • Contribute to the development of a pre-program advisory committee utilizing one’s own and the college’s professional network.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master degree required in the field of Cybersecurity or related field. PhD and additional certification(s) considered an asset.
  • Minimum of five years recent experience in the field of cybersecurity.
  • Curriculum development experience considered an asset.
  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level or in a corporate environment considered an asset.
  • Exceptional skills in communication, critical thinking and research.
  • Ability to take direction, work independently, and work effectively with a team, bringing innovative concepts to meetings.
  • Good interpersonal and consultation skills with a high level of adaptability in dealing effectively and positively with diverse team members.
  • Ability to produce high quality, detailed written documentation.
  • Experience using organizational and project management skills while working under pressure.
