Job Description

Digital Animator will be responsible for supporting activities related to the implementation, delivery and sustainability of the Co-iLab Hub (the “hub”). In collaboration with the Event Coordinator, the Digital Animator will help coordinate and plan hub events, workshops, and other related activities, while also supporting the outreach and intake of hub members and community partners. Digital Animator will communicate and interact with clients, colleagues, volunteers, leadership and community partners daily, quickly anticipating and solving barriers to success. Digital Animators will learn and develop new digital skills, through their support of various digital marketing priorities, such as web updates, social media marketing, community presentations, video production, and supporting outreach initiatives. They will also assist the Lead Hub Animator to manage the Co-iLab Hub’s digital membership platform, Nexudus, to ensure that all information is accurately recorded, processed, analyzed, and reported to leadership. Nexudus is an innovative online platform that is used for iLab’s member relationship management, which the Digital Animator will use daily. The Digital Animator and Event Coordinator will also learn about the sustainability and fundraising initiatives of non-profit and charitable organizations. These initiatives are led by Community Innovation Lab in collaboration with community partners and rural municipalities to celebrate and spotlight local cultural, agricultural, and heritage elements while generating new economic and mentorship opportunities for entrepreneurs in areas such as agriculture, sustainable foods, innovation, local cultures and tourism sectors. The associate will gain valuable experience and mentorship as they work closely with community stakeholders, municipalities, cultural and business organizations, to coordinate iLab’s outreach initiatives. The associate will build on the success of previous outreach in collaboration with municipalities, business and local partners to promote the Community Innovation Lab brand to Durham Region. Other tasks may include: program administration (supporting the back-end systems and office procedures that drive event success and track the results), program marketing (supporting the development of social media content and calendar to drive event registration and participation and build brand awareness), and program registration (supporting the management of a registration system for events and hub bookings). The Digital Animator will need to be agile to meet the ongoing needs of the Co-iLab Hub and should enjoy a fast-paced work environment. They are a natural networker easily connecting people, strengths and needs. They will help bring the Co-iLab Hub to life by helping to attract and build a calendar of lively business engagements.
