  • Regular Full-time- 37.5 hours/week
  • Commencing February 2023
Summary of Duties: Working with and reporting to the Human Resources Manager and in conjunction the Human Resources (HR) team, the Human Resources Assistant is responsible for assisting in the daily administration of all human resources functions at Grandview Kids. This role will help in setting best Human Resources practices, assist with developing and implementing policies and procedures, and work with all areas in the organization to ensure Human Resources information is communicated, available and understood.Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection function for all new employees, including identifying and tracking of candidates, performing reference checks and coordinating interviews.
  • Participate in the maintenance of physical and electronic employee records, from new hire to terminations
  • Assist managers in the interpretation of legislation, policies and procedures, and collective agreements with respect to Human Resources
  • Support the administration of employee recognition
  • Assist in the payroll process by entering timesheets and other information as required
  • Participate in the administration of and communication of benefits and benefit vendors
  • Assist in the development, implementation and conformance to all performance management procedures
  • · Participate with Policies and Procedures and Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees as required
  • Coordinate training sessions and HR related events, including assist in the orientation and on-boarding of new staff and students
  • Support all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests as required
Qualifications:
  • University degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field
  • CHRP designation or near-completion of designation or knowledge exam ready
  • 2-3 years related experience, with good understanding of HR functions
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Good problem-solving and time management skills
  • Highly computer literate with good MS Office skills
  • Payroll experience an asset
The Human Resources Assistant must be able to meet all deadlines and reporting requirements and will work closely with the Human Resources team in various ongoing projects throughout the organization, seeking and identifying opportunities to enhance the quality and efficiency of Grandview’s Human Resources functions.You have the ability to work flexible hours, and possess a valid Ontario driver’s license, insurance and access to a vehicle, or have efficient and reliable transportation to support our various sites as required.
