Job Description

Robert Half is partnering with an organization that #39;s looking for a Bilingual Purchaser to join their team. This is a full-time/permanent position located in the Ottawa-East region.Advantages:-Competitive salary (80-90K)-3 weeks vacation + sick days-Free parking-Opportunity for advancementResponsibilities:- Evaluate market value materials prices to aid in informed decision-making- Record and compare bids from several vendors and subcontractors considering price, availability, and quality- Identify strategies to reduce the costs of equipment and supplies while evaluating market trends- Attend events, shows, and exhibitions for networking with vendors and viewing new products- Prepare detailed reports for financial controller to assist in final decision making- Negotiate sale agreements and supply contracts beneficial to the company- Generate purchase orders and submit to selected vendors/subcontractors- Ensure timely follow-up on orders to verify materials/work performed are on schedule- Approve any discrepancies between Purchase Orders and Vendor invoicesQualifications:- Must be bilingual in both official languages (Englishamp; French)- Bachelor #39;s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred- 3+ years of experience in a purchasing role or related field- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel- Demonstrated experience in Purchasing Activities, Purchasing Functions, and Purchasing Management- Knowledge in Purchasing Materials and Subcontract Management- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills- Ability to work independently and as part of a team- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyRobert Half is the world #39;s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
