Job Description

Job Title: DevOps Specialist (On-Premiseamp; Cloud)Company: NewprintLocation: Ottawa, ON (On-Site Only).About Us:Newprint is an online printing company specializing in commercial printing and packaging—our clientele ranges from SMBs and institutions to all levels of government. With over 35 years in the trade, Newprint has developed its production capacity to meet fast turnaround production for short-run digital and offset printing.Position Description:Seeking a DevOps Specialist to manage and optimize on-premises servers in a Windows and Linux environment. Responsibilities include deploying and maintaining microservices, automating workflows, and ensuring system reliability. Must have experience with server migration, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD pipelines. Strong scripting and troubleshooting skills are required.Regular Tasksamp; Responsibilities:

  • Server Management: Maintain and optimize on-prem Windows and Linux servers.
  • Microservices Deployment: Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot microservices.
  • Server Migration: Plan and execute on-prem server migrations with minimal downtime.
  • Automationamp; Scripting: Develop scripts and automation tools for system management.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Management: Maintain and enhance CI/CD workflows for efficient deployments.
  • Securityamp; Compliance: Ensure security best practices and compliance with company policies.
  • System Monitoringamp; Troubleshooting: Perform regular health checks and resolve system issues.
  • Backupamp; Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage backup strategies for data protection.
  • Collaboration: Work with development teams to optimize deployment and performance.
Qualifications:Knowledgeamp; Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a related field) or an equivalent mix of education and hands-on experience.
  • Understanding of:
    • DevOps methodologies and CI/CD workflows.
    • On-premise concepts and technologies.
    • Containerization and orchestration tools.
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in DevOps or a similar role.
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to work on-site as required.
