Position SummaryThe Digital Editorial Coordinator will aid in the execution of our editorial strategy with the goals of maximizing reach, growing our overall audience, while entertaining, engaging and informing the Ottawa Senators and Ottawa Black Bear fan bases. The focus of this role assisting with team editorial coverage through multimedia content, video highlights, and executing partnership assets on our websites/apps.Responsibilities

  • Preparing, writingamp; editing article content for Ottawasenators.com and NHL app
  • Assist with daily and long-term maintenance of Ottawablackbears, Ottawasenators.com and NHL app
  • Ideate feature and news written content for display on team sites and promotion via club social media profiles
  • Edit photosamp; create website photo galleries
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Will keep appropriate information confidential
  • Assist with coverage during Sens games (including nights and weekends), inclusive of editing photo and video
  • Assist with interviews and highlights from team practices, games and media availabilities.
  • Assist with shooting social-style video with high-end smartphones or more advanced cameras.
  • Transcribe press conferences for web and social content.
  • Review and tag all content in reporting software to allow for near-real time reporting.
  • Will adjust work schedule to meet departmental demands
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
  • University degree or College diploma in business related discipline (eg. communication, digital media, journalism, sports management).
  • Strong writing, pitching and organizational skills.
  • Experience interviewing athletes or prominent figures.
  • Advanced familiarity with various CMS as well as all major social media platforms.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop or Premier required, both a plus.
  • Ability to maintain professional, journalistic relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Ability to be present at games, including evenings and weekends.
  • Bilingualism (Englishamp; French) is preferred
