Job Description

Job Title: Professional DriverLocation: Ontario, CanadaEmployer: BBS Construction (Ontario) Ltd.Position Type: Full-timeBBS Construction (Ontario) Ltd. is seeking a reliable, professional driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting engineers, staff, and equipment to and from construction sites across Ontario. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and a commitment to safety and punctuality. As a key member of our team, you will ensure the safe, comfortable, and efficient transportation of our staff while adhering to all company policies and local traffic regulations. The vehicles you will be operating include a mini-bus, pick-up van, and sedan, depending on the number of passengers and the requirements of the day.Key Responsibilities:

  • Transportation of Staff: Drive engineers, project managers, and other staff members to construction sites, meetings, and other locations as needed, ensuring timely and safe arrival.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect vehicles for safety and cleanliness. Ensure that all vehicles are in good working condition and report any issues to the fleet manager for repairs or maintenance.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws while on the road. Maintain a clean driving record and ensure the safety of passengers at all times.
  • Route Planning: Plan and follow the most efficient routes to construction sites, considering traffic, weather conditions, and road closures to minimize delays.
  • Equipment Transport: Occasionally assist with the transportation of tools and equipment to job sites, ensuring proper loading, unloading, and security of items.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, maintenance schedules, and any incidents or accidents.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Driver’s License: Must have a valid Ontario Class G driver’s license (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of professional driving experience, ideally in a commercial or construction-related environment.
  • Vehicle Knowledge: Experience operating a range of vehicles, including mini-buses, vans, and sedans.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of road safety and traffic laws. Must be able to follow instructions and ensure the safety of all passengers.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to assist with loading and unloading materials or equipment as necessary.
  • Punctuality: Reliable and punctual, with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines and maintaining schedules.
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of the Region: Familiarity with the Ontario region, including construction zones, routes, and potential hazards.
  • First Aid Certification: Basic first aid training is a plus.
Working Conditions:
  • Work Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on project needs.
  • Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience. Benefits package may be available after a probationary period.
  • Physical Demands: The position may require occasional lifting and manual labor (e.g., loading and unloading equipment) and sitting for extended periods while driving.
