Job Description

Overview:The Service Advisor plays a crucial role in the automotive service department by serving as the liaison between customers and the service technicians. They are responsible for providing exceptional customer service, accurately documenting service requests, and ensuring that vehicles are maintained and repaired efficiently.Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with customers to understand their service needs and concerns
  • Document customer concerns and vehicle issues accurately
  • Advise customers on recommended services and maintenance schedules
  • Coordinate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs
  • Provide cost estimates for services and obtain customer approvals
  • Update customers on the status of their vehicles and any additional work needed
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally and courteously
  • Maintain accurate service records and customer contact information
  • Collaborate with the parts department to order necessary parts
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any additional concerns
  • Stay updated on product and technical knowledge to provide accurate information to customers
  • Manage service and maintain an organized work area
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding customer interactions
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and provide support to colleagues as needed
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education is a plus
  • Previous experience in automotive customer service or service advising
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in automotive systems and service processes
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures
  • Familiarity with service scheduling and automotive software applications
  • Customer-focused attitude and commitment to providing exceptional service
  • Ability to work collaboratively with service technicians and other team members
  • Basic understanding of automotive billing and invoicing processes
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Adherence to ethical and professional standards in customer interactions
  • Certification from an automotive service advisor program is a plus
