Job Description

Our client, a reputable construction firm, is expanding its business and looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager specializing in Concrete, Excavation, Underground Utilities, and Building Erection to oversee industrial construction projects across Ontario.This leadership role is responsible for managing multiple large-scale projects from initiation to completion, ensuring high-quality execution while maintaining safety, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, financial management, and execution while leading teams of subcontractors, engineers, and construction professionals. This role requires expertise in civil construction, general contracting, building erection, and underground utilities, ensuring all work is completed to industry and client Your experience you bring will include: • 10+ years of experience in civil construction project management, with a strong focus on general contracting, building erection, concrete, excavation, and underground utilities in the industrial sector. • Proven track record of managing large-scale design-build and heavy civil construction projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery. • Strong knowledge of construction techniques, contracts, budgets, and risk management • Expertise in project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and construction management software. • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide project execution. • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is a strong asset. • Valid certifications in construction safety, first aid, and relevant areas (e.g., WHMIS, Working at Heights, Confined Spaces). • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills. • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities to address project challenges effectively. Your responsibilities will include: • Leads medium-to-large estimates or components of large estimates and is accountable for that specific scope of work. Leads win strategy development. • Conducts detailed analysis of contract documents and specifications to determine and validate overall project requirements. • Ensures the completion of full quantity take-offs of all labor, equipment, and materials from project documents and identifies missing information. • Leads the development of conceptual estimate proposal submissions and presentations to support construction management and design-build pursuits. • Supports the estimate lead by populating tender forms, generating requests for information, anticipating proposal requirements, and assisting to establish a pursuit schedule. • Project Leadershipamp; Execution: • Lead and oversee civil and general contracting projects, including excavation, concrete work, underground utility installations, and building erection. • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource allocations to meet project objectives • Ensure projects adhere to scope, budget, and schedule while maintaining high-quality standards. • Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to optimize productivity and efficiency. • Monitor project milestones, review progress reports, and implement corrective actions as needed.
