Job Description

Subsidiary: Miller Paving LimitedLocation: Owen Sound & Durham, ONAs a Loader Operator & Back-Up Dispatcher, You Will:

  • Coordinate orders, employees, and suppliers for efficient concrete delivery
  • Take customer’s orders, schedule employees and equipment, and ensure that sufficient materials and supplies are available
  • Operate the batch system, including a basic understanding of mix designs and concrete production equipment
  • Document key performance indicators (KPI), payroll, and inventory
  • Administer safety and environmental compliance - Apply The Miller Group’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
  • Perform daily plant inspections
  • Review tickets daily to ensure accurate invoices are generated
  • Ensure drivers and Equipment Operators are completing necessary inspections and paperwork
  • Visit customers and jobsites to identify potential jobs and build relationships
  • Work with management to establish pricing for jobs and distribute quotes
  • Perform regular site visits to identify potential problems and to address customer concerns
  • Fill-in as batcher/dispatcher at all EC King concrete plants when necessary
What You’ll Bring:
  • Valid DZ license an asset
  • Valid Driver’s license and vehicle required
  • Completion of post-secondary school
  • Basic computer knowledge and hands-on ability, with appreciation toward keeping up with new software and technologies which affect their job
  • Effective interpersonal and communications skills required to work with necessary stakeholders including drivers, customers, and outside suppliers to determine needs and/or resolve issues or problems
  • Effective organizational skills required to compile, accumulate, and utilize information
  • Ability to perform manual labour and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Respond to needs and requests of others in a helping and supportive way
  • Ability to work extended hours, and a flexible schedule when necessary
  • Assist with manual duties when required
