Job Description

Subsidiary: Miller Paving LimitedWhat Does a Paving Lead Hand DoUnder the general direction of the Paving Foreperson, the Paving Lead Hand is responsible for managing the paving crew and monitoring performance while ensuring that safety standards are adhered to on site. There is potential to provide room and board to qualified candidates that are not local.As a Paving Lead Hand, You Will:

  • Provide leadership to the Paving Crew
  • Ensure all products meet specifications
  • Tracking quantities for production and payment
  • Manage client relationships in a professional and productive manner
  • Flexibility with work assignments and resources such as equipment and materials
  • Conduct ‘tail gate’ safety talks with staff to review policies and practices
  • Ensure safety practices are followed by the crew
  • Other duties as assigned
What Youll Bring:
  • Lead hand experience
  • Experience in paving or other related activities is an asset
  • Mechanical inclination is an asset
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to engage and manage the paving crew
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Available to work 55 hours per week with a willingness to work extended hours and weekends, when required
