Job Description

What Does a Skilled Labourer DoThe Skilled Labourer will assist the Foreperson with responsibilities, and self-performing works.As a Skilled Labourer, You Will:

  • Perform construction operations on the field
  • Setup and operation of levels for layout & stakeout of various project work sites
  • Assist in performing administrative duties, including tracking quantities for production and payment
  • Assist Foreperson with allocation of resources (i.e. Equipment and materials)
  • Perform daily maintenance, clean, and service the equipment
  • Operate general construction equipment
  • Follow safety precautions, procedures, and policies
  • Other duties as assigned
What Youll Bring:
  • Experience with grading, underground work, road work, and asphalt paving and/or general construction, an asset
  • Previous construction experience will be considered an asset
  • Valid G Driver’s license
  • Effective communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with a high level of dependability
  • Familiar with operating/handling numerous kinds of construction tools
  • Knowledge of traffic control/duties (setup and takedown of work zones)
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Ability to prioritize and pay close attention to detail
  • Effectively perform verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to perform manual labour and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Demonstrate ability to gain knowledge quickly
  • Available to work days, nights, weekends or out of town if necessary
  • Willingness to work extended hours, as required
