Through these partnerships, everyone is focused on ensuring a commitment and responsibility toward anti-racism, anti-oppression, equity, diversity, inclusivity, and belonging.MISSIONThe Child and Youth Worker plays a pivotal role in the expansion of the organization #39;s Live-In Treatment program, engaging and coordinating the delivery of high-quality care to clients and their families. The Pod Group is partnering with this organization to place a strong, determined, and enthusiastic leader to fulfill the role of the Child and Youth Worker. PRIORITIES

  • Supervise and engage with children and youth during daily activities, providing emotional support and guidance to help clients address personal challenges.
  • Facilitate treatment groups, life skills training, and recreational activities to support goal attainment while encouraging positive behaviours and reinforcing coping strategies.
  • Communicate regularly with families about client progress, involve them in the care process, and conduct family psychoeducation to strengthen family dynamics.
  • Collaborate with therapists, social workers, program staff, clinicians, community partners, and families, participating in team meetings to discuss client progress and strategies and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Facilitate outings and activities that promote social integration and build partnerships with local organizations to enhance resources for clients.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, and prepare reports and summaries for team meetings and treatment reviews.
  • Implement emergency procedures and design crisis safety plans with youth to ensure client safety.
  • Identify and respond to crises or behavioral issues using de-escalation techniques, and manage crisis situations with appropriate strategies.
  • Assess family, school, and community dynamics affecting client functioning and deliver therapeutic programming to youth, families, and treatment groups.
  • Maintain a therapeutic environment and ensure compliance with agency standards and philosophy to contribute to a safe and supportive living environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
RequirementsTALENTSamp; EXPERTISE
  • A Diploma in Child and Youth Work or a relevant field. A Bachelors/Masters degree is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children and adolescents in a therapeutic or care setting.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience and active listening.
  • Flexible hours as needed.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to applicable legislation.
