Job Description

  • Manage the full cycle of recruitment for various positions in the Stratford facility, including the internal job posting system
  • Liaising with Plant Manager, Supervisors, and Temporary Agencies to identify needs of a temporary workforce and resolving issues that may arise
  • Effectively engage employees and communicate with all levels of the organization, providing advice, assistance, and follow-up on policies and procedures
  • Support, coach, and counsel front-line supervision in employee relation and legislative matters
  • Conduct employee relations-related investigations as needed
  • Responsible for coordinating the Concerns Resolution Process and record keeping
  • Manage employee discipline in consultation with Assistant General Manager - Corporate Administration.
  • Effectively resolve employee issues and concerns for all plant personnel
  • Explain benefits program to employees and serve as a liaison between employees and Benefit Specialist
  • Conduct and collect benchmarking data related to compensation and benefits
  • Work with EHS team to assist with immediate issues that arise, such as return to work accommodations
  • Assist the Assistant General Manager - Corporate Administration with projects, policy development and implementation of HR initiatives
  • Assist in training programs through the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Assist with and/or coordinate general administration functions that include Social Committee, fleet administration, and facility maintenance
  • Participate in networking and community events as needed
Job Type / Category
  • Office and plant environment of automotive manufacturing company
  • Full-time, permanent role
  • Standard work hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, but vary based on business needs
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
  • Post-Secondary education in Human Resources Management with CHRP designation or in progress with a minimum of 3 years’ direct experience in a generalist or employee/labour relations capacity
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of applicable legislation
  • Experience in leading training and orientation sessions
  • Based from the day shift schedule, but must be flexible to support a 3-shift operation when required and multiple facilities
  • Must have a strong customer focus along with solid interpersonal, and communication skills as will be interacting with people in all levels of the organization
