Together, we are looking toward to a future of strong, sustainable growth.General Job Description:This position will report to the Quality Department Supervisor, and with technical direction from Quality, you will be required to work and provide technical support in the development of quality methods, systems, and work procedures. The Quality Control Technician will specialize in the development of quality processes (plastics). This position is responsible for ensuring quality standards as required for manufacturing the products and in line with the needs of the customers.Duties and ResponsibilitiesFollowing is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other Duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. As a Quality Control Technician, you will be required to perform the following duties:

  • Will be responsible for testing materials and finished products
  • Read, record and judge colour for plastic and painted parts
  • Performs first/middle/last quality checks on all mass production products
  • Performs daily functional checks on all required products (i.e. push/pull gauge)
  • Initiates internal nonconformance reports for all defects found internally
  • Maintains documents and records according to departmental requirements
  • Performs daily audits of finished and in-process goods to verify part quality
  • Assists in pre-production trials, injection, assembly and paint.
  • Some travel required to confirm/investigate shipments to customer
  • Part dimensional layout utilizing check fixtures and appropriate measuring equipment (i.e. Vernier calipers, steel rule, height gauge)
  • Visit Customer site for sorts and other issues when required
  • Willing to perform any other related functions.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of one or two year college program in Quality or in a related discipline or
relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Must consistently represent TG Minto in a positive professional demeanor while upholding our vision of mutual honesty, dignity, integrity and respect
  • Must demonstrate a high level of customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Must exhibit professionalism under pressure and demonstrate the ability to make independent decisions
  • Must be able to pass a colour blindness test
  • Demonstrated ability to follow all TG Minto policies and procedures
  • Must have a valid G license and own vehicle
