Job Description

REPORTS TO: Director of Economic Developmentamp; TourismLOCATION: Initial Placement – Wincey Mills General Purpose:

  • To work with Arts, Culture and Heritage staff to help develop the industry in the County of Brant and to help capture and share the stories of the County of Brant.
Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Assist in evaluating and championing the Arts, Cultureamp; Heritage assets within Brant.
  • Establish and continue developing productive contacts with Arts, Cultureamp; Heritage assets.
  • Work with local artists, creatives, and community members to support the industry and collect the stories of the community.
  • Collect and prepare preliminary data on Arts, Cultureamp; Heritage assets in the County of Brant.
  • Complete and present research related to Arts, Culture and Heritage to supervisors.
  • Create draft content for Arts, Cultureamp; Heritage related social media, communications, and website.
  • Provide support for various Arts, Cultureamp; Heritage tasks including the Heritage Committee and events.
Knowledge/Skills Required:
  • Experience with Microsoft Applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, research, and data entry skills.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively collaborate as part of a team and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capability of effectively dealing with individuals at all levels within the municipal organization.
  • Experience with technical and creative writing would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Truth and Reconciliation and Ontario Heritage regulations would be an asset.
  • Valid class G driver’s license and use of a vehicle with acceptable driver’s abstract is required.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends when required.
  • Ability to work remotely.
Education: Completed at least one year of post-secondary education and enrolled in an Arts, Cultureamp; Heritage program or a related field in Tourism or History.
