Job Description

Director of Trainingamp; ConsultationAs a member of the Senior Management Team, the Director of Trainingamp; Consultation is responsible for overseeing the training for all employees. Reporting to the Chief Services Officer, the incumbent is responsible for responding to requests for training, workshops, and consultations from other agencies.Essential Position Functions:

  • Participates as a member of the Senior Management Team, participating in the operationalization of strategic objectives in areas related to training.
  • Motivates, coaches and develops direct reports through leadership and performance management within the training and consultation team.
  • Supervises the Mentorship and Training Specialist(s) and a Trainingamp; Development Coordinator.
  • Oversees the design and implementation of evaluation methods for existing training offerings and consults with other departments to identify needs for new or updated training curriculum.
  • Provides support to the development and implementation of training and consultation contracts with external partners.
  • Develops training learning objectives and evaluates training curriculum and methods of delivery. Makes recommendations for enhancement and improvement.
  • Performs and assigned technical responsibilities and details around
  • requirements for the creation and integration of technical learning content for the development of courses within a learning management system (LMS) with a clear understanding of delivering high quality and targeted learning to end-users.
  • Collaborates with technical content writers (internal and external) to design, build, test and embed digital learning content within the LMS.
  • Approves the ongoing development of the training calendar.
  • Reviews and approves requests for distance and offsite training sessions.
  • Develops tracking and monitoring for the purposes of supporting metrics around the activities and outcomes of the mentorship team.
  • Collaborates as part of a team around the planning and delivery of workshops within the family education component of Children #39;s Services.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Services or equivalent.
  • Certificate in Adult Education or willingness to obtain.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Experience the Deafblind sector with a strong understanding of methods and
  • techniques to support dual sensory loss is required
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, including presentation /
  • public speaking skills, with strong relationship building and influence skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Advanced time management, attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible with an ability to respond to changing work priorities,
  • pressure and demands.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to understand different communication methods and learning styles.
  • Valid G class licence and access to a reliable vehicle is required. Occasional travel within Ontario.
