Job Description

Job Posting: Aquatics CoordinatorDecember 6, 2022The Town of Peace River is looking for an individual who has a passion for aquatics to join our team at the Peace Regional Pool as the Aquatics Coordinator.The Aquatic Coordinator is accountable to the Director of Community Services, and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Peace Regional Pool. The position oversees the delivery of lifeguarding and instructional services and all administration, planning and operations of aquatic programs offered by the pool.The position will supervise swims, teach lessons and courses for at least 50% of their work week. The Aquatics Coordinator will administer health and safety programs and develop a safety culture within the aquatics team. The position will coordinate maintenance of the facility and aquatic systems. The Aquatics Coordinator will perform independently in an environment that requires proactivity and initiative to ensure that the recreation facilities and programs are responsive and aligned to community needs.Full Time • Permanent EmploymentWage: $31.95 per hour for the 2022 year.Hours: 40 hours per week. Evenings and weekends may be required.Closing Date: Open until a suitable candidate is found.Applicant(s) shall possess the following:

  • Standard First Aid;
  • National Lifeguard Award;
  • Current WHMIS certificate;
  • Lifesaving Instructor;
  • National Lifeguard Instructor Trainer;
  • Lifesaving Society Instructor Trainer;
  • Pool Operators 1 & 2;
  • Bronze Examiner;
  • Business Administration or two years equivalent experience;
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in the aquatic field with minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office programs;
  • RFP Supervisory Skills for Facility Operators Certificate is an asset;
  • Minimum 18 years of age;
  • Excellent public relation skills;
  • Positive and effective leadership skills;
  • Other related experience within a pool facility; and
  • Hold a valid Alberta Class 5 Drivers License.
Working Conditions:
  • Regularly lift up to 30lbs.
  • Shift Work.
  • PPE required.
