Your Opportunity:This permanent full time Social Work position is based out of the Peace River Community Health Centre, in Peace River, AB. Peace River is a community of approximately 7000 people and services a larger rural area in Northwestern Alberta. The Peace River Community Health Centre is a busy hub for the area, and this is an opportunity to work in a variety of clinical settings in a rural environment. You will work within a Rehabilitation team consisting of PT, OT, RT, SLP, SW and Recreation in a multidisciplinary environment. You will have the opportunity to use your skills in a variety of areas in the healthcare system, such as, acute care, outpatient, and long term care. This is an opportunity to work in a variety of clinical settings with clients of all ages, and you will have the ability to work to your full scope of practice. In addition to a competitive rate of pay and benefits, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3000.00. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.Description:As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.
