Your Opportunity:The manager is accountable for day-to-day operations at all sites within Area 2 including Manning, Peace River, Fairview, Worsley, Grimshaw/Berwyn, Paddle Prairie along with First Nation and Metis Settlements. Responsibilities include: Maintains and imparts an expert level of understanding of clinical policies, processes, procedures, systems and standards and ensuring compliance by all employees. Develops, recommends and manages the implementation of public health programs and ensures services are aligned with the current and future needs of various populations and communities. Ensures patient care queries and issues are addressed and provides a senior level of counsel and advice to patients, family members and team members. Manages risk throughout sites by ensuring patient care practices comply with specific professional service standards. Develops and maintains influential relationships with the general public, community residents, and patients and families to assess whether patient care programs are adequately meeting the needs of patients throughout various communities. Develops relationships by maintaining professional affiliations and engaging with community organizations, government agencies, educational institutions and other health care organizations to maintain high standards of public health care. Accesses guidance from functional leadership and/or internal/external health care professionals from other areas to resolve highly complex issues facing the community. Manages aspects of overall area budget, provides input into functional budgets and broader organizational budget decisions and forecasts. Provides mentoring and coaching.Description:The Area 2 Population and Public Health Manager reports directly to the Director of Population and Public Health North Zone (West). The manager is accountable for the day-to-day operations at all sites within Area 2 including Manning, Peace River, Fairview, Grimshaw/Berwyn, Worsley along with First Nations and Metis Settlements. The position provides direction and leadership over the public health programs and staff at the sites in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. Responsible and accountable for contributing to the achievement of the goals of the Public Health, Primary Care and Chronic Disease Management division. The incumbent works within an area Leadership team and collaborates with Senior Management to assess, coordinate, implement and evaluate public health services at the site level. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
