Job Description

The Pense Memorial Rink, located between Regina and Moose Jaw, requires an Arena Operator for the 2022/23 operating season. We are searching for people with a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn who can grow and develop the skills needed to operate and maintain our great facility for years to come. Strong and positive communication skills are required in dealing with the public, facility board members, and organizations within the facility.The Arena operator shall maintain and operate the Pense Memorial Rink (curling and hockey rinks) and associated areas for the duration of the season (September – April) to a reasonable standard. Key responsibilities include:

• Assist in initial start-up of both ice surfaces
• Operate and maintain hockey ice, including: flooding and scraping with Zamboni and ice edger; maintaining and performing repairs as they arise (including boards and glass); and conducting ice machine maintenance such as blade replacement
• Cleaning, pebbling, and scraping of curling ice as needed.
• General cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, garbage removal, set up and take down for events (tables and chairs)
• Assist in the supervision and training of part-time staff in the operation and maintenance of the facility and related equipment.
• Maintain and record daily rounds of the arena compressor room and HVAC equipment

Experience:

• Maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
