Job Description

Our client, Waycon Manufacturing Ltd., based in Penticton, BC, is a leading industrial equipment and machinery manufacturer serving clients across North America. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, custom-built solutions, they cater to a wide range of industries. Operating on over two acres of land, Waycon’s facility is outfitted with advanced in-house equipment, state-of-the-art tooling, and cutting-edge engineering technology. Their comprehensive capabilities span concept design, CNC machining, fabrication, welding, painting, assembly, and testing.Waycon is actively seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join their dynamic team. In this key role, you will be responsible for producing high-precision components that meet quality standards, contributing directly to the success of the manufacturing process. As the ideal candidate, you will have solid experience in CNC machining, including machine setup, operation, and quality control, as well as proficiency in Mastercam software. Red Seal certification is a strong asset, and candidates at this level will be entrusted with producing precision parts ranging from prototypes to small production runs.Key Responsibilities:

  • Review drawings in metric and standard;
  • Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes, mills, and horizontal boring machines;
  • Utilize Mastercam software for programming and optimizing machining processes;
  • Perform machining tasks with a focus on quality, precision, and efficiency;
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure products meet specifications and standards;
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand project requirements and timelines;
  • Maintain and troubleshoot machining equipment to ensure optimal performance;
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment;
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes.
Requirements
  • Red Seal Machinist certification;
  • Proven experience in CNC machining, including setup and operation of various machines. Lathes, Millsamp; Horizontal Boring Machines;
  • Proficiency in Mastercam software for programming and machining;
  • Distinct advantage, experience with prototype machining and short production runs;
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Familiarity with Mastercam;
  • Knowledge of quality control processes and inspection techniques;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues.
